Day 9 (Portobelo to Colon) Panama

Today was muggy, muggy, muggy.  A fat layer of haze hung on the edge of land and sea as we rolled into Colon, the entrance point for the Panama Canal.  As a side note, you should know that Colon also happens to be one of the more dangerous, and dirty armpits of Central America.  Warned not to go into town from the Marina “even during the day”….we decided to stake our claim in the Shelter Bay Marina until our clearance papers came to allow us to pass through the canal.
